ARROHE takes its name from 阿柔洋 (arohyang), a mountain located in the tea fields of Taipei, and was created out of the idea that riding a bike up a hill for 30 minutes at full speed isn’t easy. Likewise, neither is recruiting students to study overseas. Setting goals, working methodically and being consistent are beliefs that work in cycling. These attributes are not unachievable but they do require commitment and that’s where ARROHE can help. ARROHE is here to help every educational institution or provider overcome the challenge they face in Asia through giving that commitment and being a permanent presence in market for your institution.

ARROHE understands the critical recruitment challenge: East Asian students perform well and add much needed diversification to any student cohort. To attract these students though, markets demand a consistent, on-the-ground, presence with culturally fluent expertise. Here’s the thing though – flying staff overseas is expensive and there is no guarantee of establishing those all important relationships without cultural fluency.

Fractionalisation of our service doesn’t mean ARROHE works with any and all. The core “Representative as a Service” provision is limited to a small number of institutions resulting focussed activities and strategies as well as the highest quality of service. ARROHE will only take on competing clients in different countries. Exclusivity in a time of increasing competition matters and ARROHE gives your institution the air-time it deserves with all of its stakeholders.

With over 15 years of dedicated experience in international higher education recruitment, my career has been shaped by immersive, long-term stays in the regions I serve—specifically six years in Japan, six years in Hong Kong, and five years in Taiwan. This is not just professional experience; it is lived experience. I have developed a native-level understanding of the unique business etiquette, educational landscapes, and cultural nuances that define these markets. I don’t just understand the data; I understand the people behind it.
I launched ARROHE to bridge the disconnect that often exists between UK universities and their potential students in East Asia. I saw too many institutions forced to choose between the prohibitive costs of flying staff overseas and the frustrating inefficiencies of managing remote agent networks from the UK.

Based in Taipei, Taiwan we focus on “East Asia”, namely Japan, Korea and Taiwan. With extensive experience of operating in China and HK, as well as other countries in the region we can adapt our country focus to suit your strategy.
